When you look for an orthodontist you want someone who is caring and sensitive to the needs of his patients. You want to know that your orthodontist is educated and experienced with both traditional and leading-edge technologies.

Being an orthodontist requires dedication, training, and a passion for helping people change and improve their lives. Establishing relationships with my patients and watching how orthodontics can change their lives is the most satisfying part of my profession. When you become a patient in our practice you become part of our orthodontic family, and every time you come into our office we strive to make it a pleasant experience. We are passionate about what we do and our commitment to our patients. We are not only a doctor and orthodontic team; we are also parents, grandparents, patients, and people with needs and concerns just like you. With a terrific staff that has been with me for a long time, and strong support from excellent dentists in the area, we can offer you the orthodontic care that you deserve. We understand what you expect from us, and we are dedicated to helping you achieve a lifetime of healthy, beautiful smiles! We have been blessed with so many wonderful families that have become a part of our practice and look forward to meeting you and your family.---Dr. Jim Hutta

Named as one of the top orthodontists in Columbus by "Columbus Monthly" magazine in April, 2005, he was also recently voted best in orthodontics by the 2010 Greater Columbus Readers Choice Awards, and voted one of the top orthodontists in Columbus by his peers for 2011.  Dr. Hutta is one of 50 orthodontists in the world working to modify and improve technology.

Dr. Hutta enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing golf, and is an avid Buckeye and Blue Jackets fan. He is a strong supporter of local communities and schools.

Dr. Hutta loves sharing with his patients how orthodontics can change their lives!

April is National Facial Protection Month, and Dr. Hutta wants to remind parents, coaches and athletes to play it safe as they prepare to suit up for recreational and organized sports. A child’s mouth and face can be easily injured if the proper precautions are not used while playing sports.  In fact, according to the Center for Disease Control, more than half of the 7 million sports- and recreation-related injuries that occur each year are sustained by youth as young as 5 years old. Last year, the National Youth Sports Safety Foundation forecasted that more than 3 million teeth would be knocked out in youth sporting events – yet, in a survey commissioned by the American Association of Orthodontists, 67% of parents admit that their child does not wear a mouth guard during organized sports. This raises a question: if mouth guards offer a simple and relatively inexpensive solution to help dramatically decrease the risk of oral and injuries, why aren’t more kids wearing them?  Parents are encouraged to talk with their dental professionals about the right mouth guards for their young athletes, and to urge coaches to require that young athletes wear their mouth guards at every practice and every game.
